Ephesus The Street of the Curetes
This street runs from the Library of Celsus to the Gate of Hercules and then to the Odeon. On the righ, work is in progress on the Gate of Hadrian. In the same road a burial chamber, known as the "Octagon" has been discovered containing the bones of a young woman of about twenty years of age. The building itself has been dated to the 1st century, but marble slabs dating from the 4th century contain inscriptions recording the repairs carried out by the administrators Eutropius and Festus between the years 358 and 368.
